By Sam Miller
A Brooklyn man was sentenced in Pike County Court for a police chase that ended in a car crash. 20 year old Kaevon Ali will spend the next 3 to 23 months in the Pike County Jail for Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Office, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and other charges. On August 15th of 2020 troopers attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by Ali at around 4:30am on Interstate 84 West for traffic violations. Instead of stopping, Ali exited onto SR 402 and drove away at speeds over 90MPH, swerving into the oncoming lane. Officers gave chase, following Ali down 402, on to Route 6, and then on to Route 507 where Troopers managed to run him off the road. The vehicle then rolled twice and came to a stop. Ali was found inside, along with a juvenile female who told officers she had tried convincing Ali to stop during the chase.
