Counterfeit Currency Used in Honesdale

Counterfeit currency has been confiscated in Honesdale following a complaint to law enforcement authorities last week. 19 year Bradley Swasey and 21 year old Cassandra Books are accused of paying for an item, available from an area resident online, with a counterfeit $20 bill. According to Honesdale Borough Police, the bill was confirmed fake at a local bank and a search warrant of their residence on West Street in Honesdale was obtained. There officer’s allegedly found additional counterfeit bills along with drug related items. Books and Swasey are facing several charges including theft, forgery, and conspiracy.
