Dickson House Celebrating Child Abuse Prevention Month

This month is Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Dickson House Children’s Advocacy Center in Pike County has several events planned to spread the word. On April 7th the Pike County Commissioners will recognize April as Child Abuse Prevention month and elected officials will gather at the Dickson House for a commemoration. That Friday the 9th Violet, the Dickson House’s in-training comfort dog, will be available for a meet and greet with the public to learn about what she does for children who come to the Center. And throughout the month, District Attorney Raymond Tonkin and the Dickson House staff will hold short talks at various municipalities about child abuse prevention.

Also during April, Dickson House will launch its presence on Facebook and Instagram. Dickson House intends to utilize social media to keep the community informed about the services it provides, important events and to provide resources which assist in the prevention and treatment of child abuse.
