First Annual St. Hildegard von Bingen Seed Swap

By Margaret Allen
Last year saw a big rise in home gardening and this year it's expected to continue. Whether you're a master gardener or just getting started you can join the first annual St. Hildegard von Bingen Seed Swap in Honesdale next month. It's an outdoor event hosted by St. Mary Magdalen Church and includes seed dropoff, guest speakers, potluck lunch, raffles and the seed swap. Guest speaker Evan Morgan of Food for Beings, a small diversified farm and CSA will talk about growing practices and seeds. The event will be held on March 20th from 10am to 1pm and all proceeds from raffles and any donations of seeds or funds will go to the St. Dominic School Garden. St. Dominic's Academy is the Catholic Montessori School in Honesdale. The garden will provide fresh vegetables to the food pantry and cut flowers to the homebound, and help teach a new generation of gardeners. If you or your business is interested in having a table or donating to the raffle, contact Gabriele by email: [email protected]
