GHP Applies for Grants to Fund Downtown Revitalization

By Sam Miller
The Greater Honesdale Partnership has applied for the LSA-Monroe County grant to continue efforts on the Downtown Revitalization Plan. If awarded the grant, the GHP plans to hire architects and engineers to acquire exact costs and documents on how to proceed. GHP has also applied for the Keystone Community Programs Fa├žade Grant. Facade improvements were found to be in the top three community choices for updates. The GHP is also planning to join with the Wayne County Community Foundation in May to raise further funds for the project, hoping that the raised funds along with the grant money will help reach the estimated $9 million needed for the Plan over 6 years.
