H'dale Borough Police Purchase New Equipment with Seized Funds

By Sam Miller
The Honesdale Borough Police Department has been the recipient of nearly $9000 worth of new equipment over the past year, purchased with funds and property seized during drug investigations. According to Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell, the money from the Drug Forfeiture account went towards a video surveillance system for the police station, three ruggedized computer tablets, a Cannon EOS camera and two digital recorders. Money and property seized during the investigation of drugs was turned over to the District Attorney, then designated for the police department to purchase equipment which aids in the actual investigations of drug offenses.
