Honesdale Post Office Reduces Hours Over Staffing Shortage

By Sam Miller
The United States Postal Service has temporarily reduced hours at the Honesdale Post Office due to staffing shortages. Yesterday a sign was placed on the Post Office door indicating that the office would close for retail business at 12:30pm, but the press release from the USPS has given a more definitive range of hours. The new temporary retail hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The USPS also says that it is aggressively hiring in the region in order to address this. Customers are reminded to visit usps.com to schedule free package pickup, order free Priority Mail shipping boxes and purchase stamps.
