Large Memorial Day Celebration Planned in Hawley

By Margaret Allen
Big plans are in the works for Sunday of Memorial Day weekend in Hawley. The annual parade has the green light and will begin at 1:00. Festivities for a Veterans Celebration are taking place, before and after hosted by the First Baptist Church of Hawley. A church service and flag folding ceremony begins at 10:45 and all are welcome. Following the parade, a Pig Roast takes place on the church grounds beginning at 2:00 for veterans, their families, and the community. Pastor Dan Baker said it's an expression of appreciation and honor, and invites the community to join them. The cook-out is on the grounds of the First Baptist Church of Hawley, and free to everyone and in celebration of all veterans and military personnel.
