Local Boy Scout Holding Food Drive for Eagle Scout Project

By Sam Miller
A Boy Scout from Troop 1 is doing a food drive as his Eagle Scout project. Caleb Lavelle is a senior at Honesdale High School and is collecting food to benefit people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The idea came to light when Caleb heard that the Grace Episocopal Church didn’t have enough food for their weekly luncheons. The project has since expanded to benefit another church food bank with the hopes of adding a third. Donation collection bins have been set up at Stephen’s Pharmacy and Dave’s Super Duper and will be there for the next three weeks, with the hopes of adding two more collection locations soon. Anyone with questions about the drive can call Caleb at (570) 575-3621.
