The annual Luck of the Draw blood drive yesterday was a resounding success. We had a great turnout at the blood drive in Honesdale co-sponsored by the Honesdale Rotary Club with a total of 90 units of blood collected. This exceeded the goal of 84 units. After many cancellations and postponements through the winter, many people were eager to come out and help others with a true life saving measure, donating blood. Ten first time donors signed up, including Bethany Lawler. She had a good experience and explained a little bit about how it went and why she did it.

Lawler: "Because obviously you can't get it [blood] from anywhere else and I've always wanted too. I also had a low iron level every time I had the physicals. It's just important, and how many lives you can effect by donating, so it is amazing. They were very personable, helping with the questions, guiding you along super easily."

Thank you to everyone that helped make this a successful blood drive and, to anyone that wasn’t able to make it, there are others coming up.
