PA Dept. of Health Modifies Masking Order for Fully Vaccinated Residents

By Sam Miller
With vaccination rates still speeding up, the Pennsylvania Department of Health has amended the universal masking order for fully vaccinated individuals. This brings PA’s masking order in line with the CDC’s recommendations. Full vaccinated individuals can now visit with other fully vaccinated people indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing, visit with unvaccinated people from a single household who are at low risk for severe COVID-19 disease indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing, and not have to quarantine and test following a known exposure, if asymptomatic. However, it is important that fully vaccinated people continue to take precautions in public like wearing a mask and practicing physical distancing; avoid medium- and large-sized in-person gatherings; get tested if they experience COVID-19 symptoms; follow guidance issued by employers; and follow travel requirements and recommendations. Currently 1.5 million Pennsylvanians are fully vaccinated with 4.3 million total doses administered.
