Family and friends of Meghan Pitino gathed at the table dedicated in her honor, joined by Wayne County Commissioners
A dedication was held for a handicap accessible picnic table at the Stourbridge Complex yesterday, memorializing the lives of Wayne County residents taken by COVID-19, and one exceptional woman in particular. Family and friends of Meghan Pitino, who lost her life to COVID-19 in December of last year, gathered to remember her. Pitino served in many capacities, including as an advocate and coach for local Special Olympics. The ceremony opened with statements from the Wayne County Commissioners and included comments from Meghean’s coworkers and the reciting of a poem. As a final gesture John and Kelli Pitino, Meghan’s parents, donated $2,500 to Area P Special Olympics that was raised in her honor.
