Proposed Bridge Replacement in Wayne County

By Sam Miller
Residents can comment on PennDOT’s proposed plan to replace a bridge in Wayne County. The bride on SR 3002 over Stevens Creek will be replaced. The purpose of the project is to provide a sustainable crossing over Stevens Creek that provides a two-lane bridge, addresses the structural deficiencies, and provides continued access to local residents, businesses, and emergency services. The project will replace the current single-lane span and alter the direction of the bridge slightly to better align with the creek. A detour is required to perform the proposed work. Traffic will be detoured along a 7.9-mile route via SR 2004 (Haas Pond Road), SR 0690 (Madisonville Road), and SR 3007 (Neville Road). It is anticipated that the detour will be in place for approximately three months during construction, which is expected to begin in Spring of 2023 and be completed by that fall. The plans display will be held online and will be available from April 5, 2021 to April 19, 2021.
