Staff and Inmates at Pike County Correctional Facility Vaccinated

By Sam Miller
All inmates and staff at the Pike County Correctional Facility that accepted have gotten at least the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. Correctional staff became eligible for the vaccine in PA on March 31st, with inmates becoming eligible just a short time later as part of Phase 1B. Initially, 14 PCCF staff members became fully vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine. Last week, 4 staff members and 30 inmates received their first doses. Second doses will be administered in 28 days. Inmates who are released prior to full vaccination will be provided reentry services to assist them in securing a second dose vaccine appointment. The Correctional Facility will continue to offer doses to staff and inmates going forward.
