Wayne County Law Enforcement Attends De-Escalation Training

By Sam Miller
Law enforcement officials in Wayne County recently attended training on de-escalating situations. Roughly 40 county and local police officers, adult and juvenile probation officers, and dispatchers attended the training course. According to a press release from Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell, the course focused on identifying verbal and non-verbal behavior that could indicate a situation might devolve. The attendees also learned how to get information that could help reinforce communication, preventing physical altercations.
