Wayne County Property Tax Reassessment Begins

Wayne County’s reassessment has officially gotten underway. Property owners with improved properties can expect to be contacted via mail over the next several weeks. The mailings will contain data pertaining to their property and a survey to sign and complete regarding their property, structures and more. Owners are encouraged to complete and return the information contained in this mailing, otherwise an in-person visit from assessors may be needed for visual data collection. Anyone engaged in the reassessment effort who steps foot on a property will have photo ID and owners can ask to see these badges. The County is also holding eight informational meetings this month to keep the public informed, some of which will be recorded and put online for later viewing.
