WC Updated Mitigation Policies

By Sam Miller
Wayne County has updated their COVID-19 mitigation policies. Members of the public will still be required to wear masks when entering Wayne County government buildings, unless they voluntarily show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. If someone is fully vaccinated and elects to show proof when entering a County government building, they can go mask-free, but this is not a requirement to enter the building. The County will not be keeping records of who is vaccinated and elects to show proof, so every time someone wishes to enter a County building they must show the proof if they want to go maskless. Places still under the jurisdiction of the state are subject to state guidelines. Additionally, fully vaccinated County employees will no longer need to be masked at work or in a County vehicle. These policies are aligned with the latest guidance from the CDC and will go into effect next Tuesday.
